One Tin Soldier

THIS IS JAKE BLUES ^
Listen children to a story
That was written long ago
'Bout a kingdom, on a mountain
And the valley folk below
On the mountain was a treasure
Buried deep beneath a stone
And the valley people swore
They'd have it for their very own

Go ahead and hate your neighbor
Go ahead and cheat a friend
Do it in the name of Heaven
You can justify it in the end
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day
On the bloody morning after who...
One tin soldier rides away

So the people of the valley
Sent a message up the hill
Asking for the buried treasure
Tons of gold for which they'd kill
Came an answer from the kingdom
With our brothers we will share
All the secrets of our mountain
N' all the riches buried there

Now the valley cried in anger
Mount your horses
Draw your sword
And they killed the mountain people
So they won their just reward
Now they stood beside the treasure
On the mountain dark and red
Turned the stone and looked beneath it
"Peace on Earth"
Was all it said

Go ahead and hate your neighbor
Go ahead and cheat a friend
Do it in the name of Heaven
You can justify it in the end
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day
On the bloody morning after who...
One tin soldier rides away

Go ahead and hate your neighbor
Go ahead and cheat a friend
Do it in the name of Heaven
You can justify it in the end
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day
On the bloody morning after who...
One tin soldier rides away

Awesome song..powerful lyrics..thoght I'd share.
Well I am still leading the Biggest Loser competition. Don't really know what I'm going to do with the money yet..trying not to think about it until I win for sure.
Everything is going well in the household and at Watermark. I got bit by a kid...Garrett escaped Surf City (kids ministry)..I am thankful that I get to spend every Sunday doing something for other people..and grow from learning. Not a whole lot else has been going on..thinking about contacting a friend by Chicago and making some plans to go to Shedds aquarium pretty soon w/ the family. Heard the LAN party at Brents house was spectacular..sorry I could not be there to witness the enjoyment. Ready for some Texas Hold'em with friends..hmmmmm what to say...Duerty has cool hair..gonna miss the Roach

In Your Eyes

Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgement on disputable matters. One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. Romans 14:1-2

Love I get so lost, sometimes
days pass and this emptiness fills my heart
when I want to run away
I drive off in my car
but whichever way I go
I come back to the place you are

All my instincts, they return
and the grand facade, so soon will burn
without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside

In your eyes
the light the heat
in your eyes
I am complete
in your eyes
I see the doorway to a thousand churches
in your eyes
the resolution of all the fruitless searches
in your eyes
I see the light and the heat
in your eyes
oh, I want to be that complete
I want to touch the light
the heat I see in your eyes

Love, I don't like to see so much pain

I get so tired of working so hard for out survival
I look to the time with you to keep me awake and alive

And all my instincts, they return
and the grand facade, so soon will burn
without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside

In your eyes
the light the heat
in your eyes
I am complete
in your eyes
I see the doorway to a thousand churches
in your eyes
the resolution of all the fruitless searches
in your eyes
I see the light and the heat
in your eyes
oh, I want to be that complete
I want to touch the light,
the heat I see in your eyes
in your eyes in your eyes
in your eyes in your eyes
in your eyes in your eyes

Awesome sermon today at Watermark about the fifth commandment..Honor thy father and mother. Made me realize that in this life you don't have long to do right..have fun..help others and serve God (not particularly in that order). There weren't alot of dry eyes in the place. I believe alot of people have had problems with the mothers and fathers in their life..it was a sermon of forgiveness and the huge part of our heart that is reserved for jailing revenge and unexpressed feelings for others that we didn't convey..because we didn't feel comfortable or it wasn't a good time. There is no better time than the present. It is sad to know that one day our parents will leave this world and honor is a huge word...I am urging you all who read this to pick up the phone...call mom and dad and just say hello and ask how they are doing....ask them to forgive you if you feel you did them wrong..or tell them how you feel about them. I called mine and told them I loved them...a day doesn't go by that I don't feel that way..but many go by that I don't tell them that.
(sniff sniff)
Peace out
& God Bless.

Safety Dance

I have lost a total of 21 lbs in one month and it feels pretty darn good. I have cheated for one whole day and had coldstone and papa murphys. I am walking the safe road now...a little while left and I will be the mighty victor of the biggest loser competition.
I guess the hardest part was learning to live on less than what we are accustomed to. I am accustomed to about 5 or six pieces of pizza at a sitting. Some (three scoops) ice cream.with fixings or peanut butter. I am a eater..and I eat..I love food and I love the way that a full belly makes me feel...I don't like being a fat pig though. Hmmm so where do I draw the line? Do I continue my life eating once a week the way I WANT and six days the way I SHOULD? Doesn't everyone have an eating disorder if you are around good food?
I want to thank everyone in this competition for giving me the initiative to get off my fat butt and try to eat healthier and lose some FAT. I want to thank Steve Thompson for paying my $20 when I didn't have it.
You can dance if you want to, you can leave your friends behind..cuz your friends don't dance and if they don't dance, well they're no friends of mine.

Peace out
God Bless
